Review by hotel critic
Upon arriving at the West Port Hotel, I was immediately drawn to the lively atmosphere of the pub, a perfect stopping point after a morning stroll around Linlithgow Loch. The restaurant's ambiance exuded warmth, with both friendly staff and an inviting layout that encouraged a relaxed meal. For lunch, I chose their homemade burger, while my companion enjoyed the scampi. Both dishes showcased fresh and locally sourced ingredients, clearly prepared with care. The burger was juicy and well-seasoned, complemented by crispy chips, making it an excellent choice after our walk. The service, provided by a cheerful young lady, was attentive without being intrusive. What stood out to me, reminiscent of the hearty breakfasts I'm used to back home in Cork, was the hotel's breakfast offering. While I did not indulge this time, reports of their generous options left me intrigued for future visits. The West Port Hotel strikes a commendable balance between a cozy pub experience and quality dining. The combination of friendly service and well-prepared dishes makes this a solid choice for anyone seeking a memorable culinary experience. It comes highly recommended for lunch, dinner, or even a sumptuous breakfast.
